To the Palmon family, please accept my condolences on the loss of your father. I was his paperboy from 1982-1985 on MacAvoy Ave in Rome, NY.. I used to stop and talk with him whenever I saw him. He knew my father(Jack Turner-they called him T-Bone)and would talk with me about him often. He was a good man and would offer advice on occasion. My life was enriched that much more by being around him.
He is in a good place now watching over everyone..
God bless him and you all as well..

Sorry I can't be there to say good bye. You are all in my heart he will be greatly missed. I'll always remember playing volley ball at the family reunions, but my most beloved memory will always be how those Christmas presents from Santa end up in the car when we came to visit on Christmas Eve. Love you all. Cindy

Our heartfelt condolences to Shirley, Anita, & Joe on the passing of our Uncle Al. Uncle Al was the last of his generation of Palmons , preceded by three brothers and two sisters. Lots of good memories of Uncle Al come to mind: fun family times at the old Parkview Hotel in Sylvan Beach; Uncle Al’s avid ping pong and card games and his love of both; his active presence at all of the annual Palmon picnics in Verona Beach State Park, including his love for a good volleyball challenge; his ever present sense of humor.
I will always remember his thoughtfulness and support in visiting his sister Christine(my Mom) at the long term care facility in her last years, even when it was difficult for him to make the drive. This was much appreciated by my Mom and our family.
We will all miss Uncle Al greatly.

Goodbye to my Uncle Al, the Last of the Palmons of his generation.
Our condolences to Shirley, Anita and Joe, the rest of his extended family and all his grand-children.
We'll always remember him at the annual Palmon Picnic in Verona Beach State Park, playing volleyball with verve well into his 70s. He enjoyed teasing all of us, with a smile on his face.
They called his generation The Greatest Generation (thanks to Tom Brokaw) because --like Al--they grew up in the Great Depression and lived through the deprivation of WWII. So much of their youth surrendered to pay for double-barreled global mistakes far beyond their control...
Al, like his brothers & sisters, grew up in a tougher world than we ever knew.
He was much-loved by his sister (our mother) Christine, who spoke about how Al stood up for her at school. You can tell a lot about a man by the way he treats his sister.
Good-bye, Uncle Al, and Godspeed.
