Mr. D'Amore was my Social Studies teacher in 1980/81.
I have many wonderful memories of him, including our trip to Newport, RI to tour the mansions. He always made learning fun, and had creative ways of keeping our attention. We used to play Hollywood Squares to review for tests.
I was fortunate to meet his parents and sister, when we were seated together at Jeff Hanson's wedding.
I have seen Steve several times over the years, and was pleased that he remembered me after so long. I will never forget him, he was a wonderful teacher, and a great man.
You have my deepest sympathy.
Sincerely, Jim Dimbleby

Dear Pam,
I was so sory to read of your brother's passing. I know how close you both were. In case you don't remember me, I'm Mary Anne from MetLife.
I remember your brother from your wedding and he kept asking me to come in to the party, but I said no, because I wasn't invited to the reception, but he bought me a drink and was very very nice.
Again, so sorry for your loss

Steve's death is a terrible loss to society. I graduated from Whitesboro Sr High in 1981 and I was fortunate to have Steve as a friend all of these years. He was one of the greatest individuals anyone could ever be lucky enough to know. He gave me some wonderful advice and guidance when I needed it. God Bless Steve and his family. He will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to know him. "Steve thank you for everything, we miss you." Say hi to Dale for all of us..

To Stephen's family - Please accept my deepest sympathy. For many years, I would hear about Stephen from my late Uncle Al Aquino. He would comment about what a terrifc guy Stephen is and what a great friend to my cousin Tom. I met Stephen many, many years ago and even today, I can say that I do remember that he was a wonderful person. I know that Stephen's passing is a huge loss to his family and friends. You are in my prayers. God bless.

So sorry to hear of Steve's passing. My wife and I purchased his home, on South Madison St. in 1986. The house and his memory have been a blessing to us. Have not chatted with him since the early 1990's. Learned too late of the visitation hours. God bless and guide your family.

I am of former student of Mr. D'Amore. I would like to express my sympathies to his family. He influenced me a great deal and, to some extent, helped me to make the decision to be a Spanish teacher myself. I even use in my class some of the techniques he used with us! He will be missed by many who walked the halls of Whitesboro School.

He made us laugh and really got to know each one of us. My condolences to his family; the halls of Whitesboro won't be the same. Have a drink with Mr. Pugh, Mr. D'Amore; you'll not be forgotten. Rest in peace.

Mr. D'Amore was my social studies teacher at Whitesboro. He was an amazing teacher and he had a strong passion for what he did. He always pushed his students to do their very best and he had a very unique and fun way of teaching and getting students interested in Social Studies. I remember that he always had so many great stories to tell that were so much more interesting than any history textbook. He will be greatly missed and I am honored to have had him as a teacher. My deepest condolences go out to all of his family and friends.

I just learned of Steve's passing. I worked with him at MVCC. His enthusiasm for learning and true caring for students was genuine. He truly loved to see the lightbulb come on as students grasped the material. The heavens have added another star. My most sincere sympathy to the family as you go through a difficult time.
