Louise A. , (Volpe) Nardozza Louise Volpe Nardozza, 92, formerly of Rome, NY passed away Monday, July 23, 2007 at the Syracuse Home in Baldwinsville, NY. Louise was born in Little Falls, NY on June 30, 1915, daughter of the late Lorenzo and Rosa (DiPaolo) Volpe. Louise attended Rome Free Academy and then worked at W.T. Grant Co. She married James Nardozza on September 23, 1943 in St. John the Baptist Church while he was home on furlough from the service. Jim passed away April 5, 2007. Louise was employed by the Rome City School District and worked at DeWitt Clinton School for many years. Once retired, Louise and Jim enjoyed traveling and getting together with family and friends on a regular basis. Louise was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and its Congregation of Mary. She was a member of Ava Dorfman Senior Citizens Center, South Rome Senior Citizens, St. Johns Golden Ages, the Christ Child Society, and was an avid Bocce player with the Womens Toccolana Bocce League. In 2001, Louise and Jim moved to North Syracuse to be closer to their family. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Aurora and Raymond Wilson of Liverpool, NY, a daughter, Lorraine Henry and her companion, Andrew Davis, North Syracuse, NY; granddaughters, Jennifer Radcliffe and her husband Andrew, Brenda Henry, Christina Wilson, and Patricia Wilson. Louise was also the very proud great grandmother of Kyle and Alexander Radcliffe. Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Laura Lupica, Rome; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Jean Nardozza, Dallas, Texas, Vito and Frances Nardozza, Sunrise, FL, and several loving nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by Jim, her loving husband of 63 years, three brothers, John, Dominick, and Felix Volpe, and two sisters, Mary Squillace and Philomena Volpe. Our family would like to give our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at the Syracuse Home who made Louise part of their family for the last three years. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:45 am from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home Inc. 218 W. Court St. Rome and at St. John the Baptist Church, Rome, at 10:30 am. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Syracuse Home Association Activities Fund, 7740 Meigs Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
