Violet J. Finster, 90, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Rome, NY, on December 30, 1931, daughter of the late James and Alvira Cervo Stolo. Violet was educated in Rome schools. On August 14, 1954, she married Guido Ottavio, who passed away on November 7, 1981. Violet later married Paul Finster, on November 26, 1983. He passed away April 27, 2014.
Violet was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. She enjoyed golfing, cooking, baking and sharing time with her family. Violet was a model for several retail establishments in her early career. She later became a beautician until her retirement. Violet was a caring homemaker throughout her life.
Surviving are her children: Gloria (Hank) Kleaka, Lori (John) Anguilli, Lisa (Kerry) Streeter, grandchildren: Jeff (Donna) Morat, Anthony Morat (Ashley Lewis), Michael (Kristy) Smith, Stephen (Samantha) Smith, Nicole (Jon) Kraus and Ryan Streeter, great-grandchildren: Gemma Morat, Lincoln Morat, Dominic Morat, Brantley Smith and Briella Smith. Also surviving are sisters and brothers: Donna (Ray) Adams, Gloria Budlong, Ronald Stolo, Robert Stolo and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husbands, Guido and Paul, and brothers and sisters: Anthony Stolo, Joseph Stolo, James Stolo, Rose Gualtieri, Lucille Stolo, Vera Prather, Doloretta Austin and Marie Lawless.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating, where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Spring Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
