Elinore E. Corasiniti, 96, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at home. She was born in Brantford, Ontario, Canada, on May 30, 1925, daughter of the late Arthur L. and Hannah McIntyre Cowie. In 1965 she married Salvatore Corasiniti in Santa Monica, CA. He passed away October 18, 2007. Elinore graduated from Brantford School of Nursing at Brantford General Hospital in Brantford, Canada. She was employed as a nurse in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Santa Monica, CA, Dobbs Ferry Community Hospital, Dobbs Ferry, NY and in Rome, NY. A passionate gardener, Elinore's beautiful gardens were admired by all who saw them. She was a warm, loving and generous woman who fulfilled her late husband's wishes of helping deserving local high school students to continue their education in college. In 2019, she established the Salvatore Corasiniti Memorial Scholarship as part of the Rome Dollars for Scholars, that each year benefits two students at Rome Free Academy. Surviving are a brother, Alan Cowie, Vancover, British Columbia, Canada, several nieces and nephews including Carolyn Corasiniti Pagani and her husband Frank Pagani, Westchester, NY. Services will be private. There are no calling hours. Entombment will be in Ferncliff Cemetery Mausoleum, Hartsdale, NY.
