Amalia Strange, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 3, 2021. Born in Nicastro, Providence of Cantanzaro, Calabria Italy, on May 9, 1930, daughter of the late, Francis and Anna LaChimia. Amalia was united in marriage to Nicholas L. Strange on January 28, 1956 at which time she moved to the U.S. Amalia was a devoted, loving wife and mother. She was a woman of God, devoted to her faith. Amalia was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Rome, N.Y. Everyday she prayed the Rosary, attended Mass or watched it on TV. She had a passion for cooking and baking. Amalia loved to share what she made with her family, friends and neighbors. Surviving is her son, Joseph L. Strange and her daughter, Frances M. Strange, both of Rome and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas L. Strange and her sister, Dora LaChimia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., at St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio and the Rev. Robert Kelly concelebrating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd.
