June,
I was so sorry to learn of Pete's passing. I happened to read the newspaper and saw his name listed; I was stunned.
I don't know how you're holding up through all of this, but if he suffered, he is in a place of peace now.
I am so sorry for your loss.

Uncle Pete, my love and memories of you will live on forever in my heart. Here are a few I'd like to share..I will never forget the snow tunnel you dug for me the first time I came to Rome. I still have the picture.. all of our "trips" to Mc Donalds for coffee...and chocolate shakes...and I will NEVER forget Red Lobster and our little souvenir! Do you still have that Aunt June?...and driving 20 miles out of Rome to find me the perfect tacos! The list goes on and on! I loved and cherished every trip I took to Rome and couldn't wait to stay with you and Aunt June! You had so much love in your heart Uncle Pete. I will miss you beyond words!I was SO BLESSED to have you for an uncle. I LOVE YOU!
Your niece,
Lannie

pop, you dont know how much it hurts to see you go. we had alot of laughs between fishing trips, hunting trips, and just life. i want to thank you for being such a big-hearted person, youd give the shirt off your back and the last dime in your pocket if i needed it. i will never forget the time we were driving to the st. lawrence and we hit that bird and we couldnt stop laughin for almost an hour. or how youd crash through the house around christmas time when id spend the night trying to make me think santa was there. or how you used to take me fishing down behind the school...you, me n my dad. or how you jumped into the oriskany creek chasing after my first home run ball. but i think most of all im gonna miss listening to you and my dad relive the hunting and fishing stories over coffee, and how no matter how many times youd tell that damn ronnie hunt joke about the hunting dog, youd never get it quite right, but it was still hilarious. theres too many good times that we shared to list, but i want to thank you for all of them. i love you pop. hope the trout in heaven are huge. we'll miss ya.

So sorry to learn of Pete's passing.
Talking to Don the week before, all seemed to be well.
