Frank "Ciccio" Iozzo
Frank "Ciccio" Iozzo, 83, of Rome passed away Thursday, November 26, 2009 at Rome Memorial Hospital with his wife and sister by his side. He was born in Chiaravalle, Calabria, Italy on April 18, 1926, son of the late Joseph and Maria Tino Iozzo. On March 14, 1959 he married Liberata "Libby" Sestito in Chiaravalle, Italy, a blessed union of 50 years. Ciccio came to America in 1961. He retired from Joseph & Feiss Inc., Utica. Frank was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and the Toccolano Club. He enjoyed gardening, playing bocce, and spoiling his grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife Libby, are a daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Paul Spence, Atlanta, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Dawn Iozzo, Syracuse, NY; five grandchildren, Ryan Spence, Lauren Spence, Brendan Spence, Isabella Iozzo, and Elaina Iozzo. Also surviving are two sisters, Theresa Sacco, Waverly, NY and Nancy Iozzo, Chiaravalle, Italy; and a brother, Anthony Iozzo, Messina, Italy; a sister-in-law, Anna Iozzo, Rome, NY; beloved nieces and nephews, Joe Iozzo, New Hartford, NY, Mary Ann Worlock, Rome, NY, Michelle Moore, Buffalo, and Larry Sestito, Buffalo. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Iozzo.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home Inc., 218 W. Court St. and at St. John the Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m.
