I first met Martin in the early 1980’s. We worked together as house painters. We became friends over time and worked together at different contractors off and on for a number of years. We also did many side jobs together and shared quite a lot of time hanging out after work for a few drinks and just having fun. After Martin moved to New York we stayed in touch, talking two, three times a year and catching up on how each other was doing, joking about old times etc.etc. I just learned of his passing recently and was surprised and saddened because I had just spoke with him about 4 months earlier.
