Obituary of Richard F. DiBerardino

Richard F. DiBerardino, 62, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rome, NY, on October 4, 1958, son of the late Louis A. Sr., and Carmella Pasqualetti DiBerardino. Richard was a graduate of Rome Free Academy Class of 1978. He worked many years in the family business, DiBerardino's Bakery and after his father died Richard joined his sister Mary Lou running the bakery until it's closing. After that Richard held a long career at the Turning Stone Casino working in the food and beverage department, retiring in 2020.
Richard spent his entire life in Rome, supporting the community. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Rome Elks Club, an active member of Rome Hook and Ladder Co. #1 Volunteer Fire Dept., Rome, NY, and Volunteer Firemen's Benevolent Association of Rome, NY.
Surviving is his beloved sister, Mary Lou Fallon, of Rome, a brother and sister-in-law, Louis A. Jr., and Krista DiBerardino, of Homosassa, FL., a sister-in-law, Pat DiBerardino, of Rome, and all his nieces and nephews who held a very special place in his heart; Elizabeth Baptiste, Cindy McDonald, JB Baptiste, Lou DiBerardino, John DiBerardino, Patrick DiBerardino, Godson and nephew Louis A. DiBerardino III, and Christian DiBerardino, special great-nieces and nephews; Brittany Lane, Melissa Filipchuk, Joel McDonald, Kaia Baptiste, Louis A. DiBerardino IV, Isla DiBerardino, Paige DiBerardino, Connor DiBerardino, Erin DiBerardino, Liam DiBerardino and Dylan DiBerardino, his aunt, Lita Pasqualetti Hale and his special friend, Keith Townsend. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Carmella DiBerardino, and his brother, Frank S. DiBerardino who passed away January 1, 2021.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 12:00 noon at St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Anyone wishing to attend is required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. There are no calling hours. Private interment will take place at St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
