Obituary of Rocco "Buzz" A. Falitico

Rocco "Buzz" A. Falitico, 85, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020, at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rome, NY, on June 12, 1934, son of the late Rocco D. and Carmella Gaetano Falitico. Buzz was a graduate of Rome Free Academy, and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. On October 14, 1961 he married Monica Merola in St. John the Baptist Church. Buzz retired as an Electronics Engineer at Griffiss Air Force Base. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving besides his wife, Monica, are a daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne and C.J. Cronk, Lee Center, a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Shelley Falitico, Batavia, NY, and a daughter, Christine Hoenig, Rochester, NY, five grandchildren; Bryan Falitico, Steven and Kaelie Falitico, Michael Falitico, Erica Hoenig, and Alan Cronk, two great-grandchildren; Sofia and Nolan Falitico, niece Angela (Harry) Agens, and several grand-nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family members. He was predeceased by his parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Tom Bonavita, a brother, John Falitico, sister-in-law, Virginia Merola, son-in-law, G. Eric Hoenig, and nephew, Tomas Bonavita, Jr. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in Rocco's name to: Lupus and Allied Diseases, P.O. Box 170, Verona, NY 13478 or Life Teen Youth Program, St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick St., Rome, NY 13440. Services will be private due to the Covid19 Pandemic. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church at a later date. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by Nicholas J.
