Obituary of Marianne Retrosi

Marianne Retrosi, age 74, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 13, 2019, after a courageous battle with her loving family by her side. She was brave until the end. Marianne's smile and laughter could light up any room. Her life was a living example of strength, courage, and immeasurable love. She was born on April 14, 1945 in Canton, Ohio to Cyril and Florence Miller Adams. On June 18, 1977 she married the love of her life Frank Retrosi, Jr. Together with a deep love and adoration for each other they raised a large family of six children. While Marianne loved her children deeply, her love for her grandchildren was unparalleled. Frank and Marianne spent their happiest days together with their children and grandchildren in the Adirondacks at Raquette, Otter, and Tupper Lake. The sun rose and set with each and every one of them. Marianne is survived by her adoring husband, Frank Retrosi, Jr., six amazing children; Tony (Stephanie), Teresa, Bob (Christine), Chris, Craig (Jen), and Kathy (Dean), thirteen beautiful grandchildren; Alexandra, Adam, Aidan, Julia, Megan, Dylan, Isabela, Giada, Michael, Matthew, Joey, Maddie, and Chase. Also surviving are three brothers and sisters-in-law; Jim (Donna), Tom (Becky), Bill (Thada), mother- in- law, Kathryn Retrosi, a brother- in- law Rick (Alicia) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in life by her parents Cyril and Florence Adams, brother, Dave Adams, and father-in-law, Frank Retrosi, Sr. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Rome Police and Fire Departments, the ICU staff at St. Joseph's Hospital, especially RN Michelle Dolittle. . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 17, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Peter's Church with the Rev. Philip A. Hearn officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
