Obituary of Catherine L. Kelley

Catherine L. Kelley, 93, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Colonial Park Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born in Wyano, PA on July 13, 1925, daughter of the late, Charles and Anna Tomassi Metz. On December 7, 1946 she married Bennett H. Kelley, in Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Yukon, PA. He passed away on August 7, 1998. Catherine retired from the Rome City School District as a monitor. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Kay and Herb Bennett, Rome, grandchildren; Amy Carlo, Lori Ann Metzgar, Heather Zuniga, Jason Kelley and Taylor Nicole Bennett, great grandchildren; Christopher David Metzgar, Stephen Metzgar, and Sydney Catherine Carlo. Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Mary Metz, W. Newton, PA, a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Owen Snyder, Wyano, PA, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bennett, a son, Bennett H. Kelly, Jr., and a brother, Frank Metz.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 1:30 p.m., at West Newton Cemetery Chapel, West Newton, PA. There are no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made in Catherine's name to Memorials Processing, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
