Rose Mary Viscosi Myrick
Rose Mary Viscosi Myrick, 92, of Rome passed away on Sunday June 5, 2016 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Rome, NY, on July 7, 1923 daughter of the late Angelo and Mary Tusto Viscosi. Rose was employed by the Rome City School district for many years. She was a member of St John's the Baptist Church.
She was a caring woman with a warm heart. Raised in an era of limited resources, she developed an expertise to make the most of what she had. Rose had a passion for cooking and could turn the most mundane item into a culinary delight. If you were a guest at her house chances are you did not leave without having a delicious meal. Her passion went beyond the kitchen into the garden. She loved to experiment with different plants and could grow anything and everything. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. No matter the situation, she was always there to lend an ear or a kind word. Rose was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother wearing many titles proudly, especially "Grandma Rose" which she was called by her great grandchildren.
She is survived by her son William R Myrick Jr, her daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and Fred Pellam all of Rome, three grandchildren, Ginny Pellam of Winter Springs, FL, Megan Pellam and her boyfriend Sean Abell and his children Vittoria and Sean of Charlton, NY and Kristy and her husband Jeff Kubat of Clinton, NY, and two great grandchildren Jacob Montalbano and Nathan Kubat. Rose was predeceased by her five sisters, Josephine Tena, Christine Millington, Florence Cimo, Mary Madonia, and Mary Viscosi, and her two brothers Mario Viscosi and Vincent Viscosi.
The Family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses at St Elizabeth's Hospital, The Masonic Home Rehab Unit and Hospice Care.
