Obituary of Augustina "Augie" P. Aquillo

Augustina "Augie" P. Aquillo Augustina "Augie" P. Aquillo, 91, of Rome, passed away Monday May 16, 2016 at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Rome, NY, on December 31, 1924 daughter of the late Steve and Victoria Gratch Recchio. Augie attended Rome Schools. On December 9, 1944, she married Anthony Aquillo in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away April 9, 1985. Mrs. Aquillo retired from Central New York Psychiatric Center, Marcy. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Augie was an avid bowler and bocce player. Surviving are two daughters; Marie (Aquillo) Chandler, Rome, and Vickie Adamski, Rome, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Also surviving are a son-in-law, Robert T. Wojdyla, Sr., Charlotte, NC, brother and sisters-in-law; Archie and Virginia Recchio, Marion Recchio all of Rome, a sister and brother-in-law, Annie and Peter Curtis, MI and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony, a daughter, Carol (Aquillo) Wojdyla brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Rose Recchio , Sandy Recchio, sisters and brothers-in-law; Lottie and Tony Mercurio, Mary and Jess Adkinson, Carmella and Tony Russell and Antoinette and Louis Barbado. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 8:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd. and at 9:00 a.m. and at St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nicholas J.
