Obituary of Anthony "Chuck" J. Busciglio, Jr.

Anthony "Chuck" J. Busciglio, Jr. Anthony "Chuck" J. Busciglio, Jr., 69, of Rome passed away with his loving family by his side, on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Abraham House, Utica. He was born in Rome, N.Y., on October 18, 1946 son of the late Anthony "Shorty" J. and Dolores Verrenti Busciglio. Chuck graduated from Rome Free Academy. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1965 to 1967. Chuck retired as a dealer from Turning Stone Casino and was a former employee of Revere Copper and Brass. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and American-Ukrainian Veterans and Mens Club. Chuck enjoyed all sports especially the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed going to all his nephews sporting activities. Chuck was an avid golfer. Surviving are two sisters; Shirley Scherer and Anita Antonucci both of Rome, an aunt, Florence Symonds, Sherburne, NY, three nephews and their wives; Steven and Karen Scherer, Holland Patent, Paul and Kim Antonucci, Madison, Anthony and Jennifer Antonucci, Westmoreland, three great nephews; Anthony Antonucci, Westmoreland, Thomas Scherer and Jon Scherer both of Holland Patent and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, a great nephew Jake Scherer, several aunts, including a special Aunt Rose Mistretta, uncles and cousins. The family would like to express a special thank you to the caretakers of Abraham House and Hospice for their loving, compassionate care and comfort extended to Chuck and his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at church from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
