Daniel F. Lefty Consiglio
Daniel F. Lefty Consiglio, 80, of Rome, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital, New Hartford, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Rome, N.Y. on January 9, 1927, son of the late Guiseppe and Carmela Griffo Consiglio. Dan served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. On June 16, 1951, he married Margaret Conte in St. Marys Church, Frankfort, his devoted, loving wife of 56 years. Dan retired from Rome Cable in 1987. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Toccolana Club and AARP.
Surviving besides his wife, Marge, are two daughters and sons-in laws, Carm and John Buckley, Syracuse, N.Y., Monessa and Tom Shepard, Oneida; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Daniel and Lisa Consiglio, Syracuse, N.Y.; six cherished and loving grandchildren, Daniel and his wife Anna Cosiglio, Nichole Consiglio, Stephen and Kevin Buckley, Eric and and Andrew Sheppard. Also surviving are four sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose Szczesniak and Jenny Kenny, both of Rome, Florence Weber, New Jersey, Dolores and Billy Williams, Rome; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph Jr. and Virginia Consiglio, Rome two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike and Joannie Conte, Ilion, Frank and Rayda Conte, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Felicia Pirillo and Lucy Kaczmarski, and three brothers, Michael, Angelo and Anthony Bucky Consiglio, also brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Lefty especially loved being with his family, playing volleyball games in his back yard and many games of cards. He also enjoyed working in the kitchen at the Toccolana Club and playing Bocce and cards with his friends at the club. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.
Danny touched many lives with his kind and generous heart. He will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Potluri, Dr. Butala and the wonderful caring staff of the second floor at St. Likes Hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church at 9:00 a.m. where relatives and friends are welcome to attend. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Friends may call at Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., Rome, on Friday from 4-7 p.m.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday at 09:00 AM from St. John The Baptist Church, 200 E. Dominick St. , . Interment in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7PM. .
