I was fortunate to have my Uncle Joe close to me the last few years. We had such fun on our "road trips" to Utica and back to meet with his lawyer, set up his will and trust, etc. Of course we always HAD to stop for a good breakfast at Denny's and laugh over our never ending stories about his growing up, times with my mom and dad, and how the light of his life (my Aunt Dorothy) always made us laugh.
The funny thing is that he hasn't left me. He's in my heart, in my home (still playing pranks), and on my computer screen saver for me to talk to every day.
