Ida M. Guiliano
Ida M. Guiliano, 59, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Carthage, N.Y. on June 22, 1949, Daughter of the late George and Eleanor Wilton LaJoie. On May 15, 1970, she married Loreto "Larry" A. Guiliano Sr. in St. John the Baptist Church. Ida worked in the Rome City School system for 28 years, retiring from Clough Elementary School. She was an assistant Den Leader at Ridge Mills School Cub Scout Den. Ida was a member of the Early-Bird Bowling League, Thursday Night Boccette League, assistant to the RBC Youth Bowling and was an avid bingo player.
Surviving besides her husband, Larry, are a daughter, Colleen M. Guiliano and a son, Larry A. Guiliano Jr. and companion, Jodie Foster, all of Rome; four grandchildren, Dusty, Corey, Allison and Heath. Also surviving are five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Joe LaJoie, Florida, Jim and Gail LaJoie, Pat LaJoie, Tom LaJoie, Bill and Diane LaJoie, all of Watertown, N.Y.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Andrea and John Kendrew, Watertown, Candy LaJoie, Dexter, N.Y., Beatrice and Jay Davis, Watertown; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Patricia Johnson, Carl and Cindy Guiliano, Rosalie and Walter Oliver, all of Rome; several nieces and nephews; and her special canine companion, Bella. She was prececeased by her parents, George and Eleanor LaJoie, a brother, John LaJoie, a sister, Carolyn LaJoie, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sal and Pauline Guiliano, a brother-in-law, Russell D. Johnson Sr., and a nephew, John Kendew Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemertery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In Lieu of flowers and Mass cards, contributions may be made to the family.
