Nicholas L. Strange
Nicholas L. Strange , 87, of Rome, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2006. He was born in Rome, NY on March 27, 1919, son of the late Joseph and Caroline Graziano Strange. Nick served with the U.S. Coast Guard, from 1942 to 1946. On January 28, 1956, he married Amalia Lachimia in Italy. Mr. Strange retired from maintenance with the Rome City School District, and was a former employee of Griffiss Air Force Base and General Cable. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and H.P. Smith Post 24 American Legion.
Surviving besides his wife, Amalia, are a son, Joseph L. Strange, a daughter, Frances M. Strange, and a sister, Frances Smith, all of Rome; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Elsie McMahon and Jean Strange, and a brother, Antonio Strange.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in St. Peters Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
