Obituary of Ida DeProspero

Ida DeProspero Ida DeProspero, 91, of Rome, passed away Friday, January 30, 2009 at Stonehedge Nursing Facility. She was born in Rome, N.Y. on September 5, 1917, daughter of the late Antonio and Rose Viscosi Norelli. Ida was educated in Rome schools. On September 11,1937, she married John "Sheriff" DeProspero in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away January 17, 1990. Mrs. DeProspero retired from Rome Developmental Center. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Nicholas DeProspero, Rome; four grandchildren, David DeProspero, Deborah Leonard, John and his wife Michele Leonard, and Peter Leonard, all of Rome; three great grandchildren, John Michael, Ryan Matthew, and William Micah Leonard; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Joseph Conti, all of Rome; and several nieces and nephews, including James and his wife Barbara Acchino. She was predeacesed by her daughter and son-in-law, Johanna and Peter Leonard, three sisters, Carmella "Babe" Acchino Almeida, Martha Norelli, and Jane Ciotti. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:45 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-3 p.m.
