Mary Ann Barber
Mary Ann Barber, 75, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Rome, NY on May 5, 1937 daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Giardino Migliori.
Mary Ann attended Rome schools. On July 14, 1956 she married Thomas S. Barber in St. John the Baptist Church, a union of 56 years. Mary Ann retired from Rome State School and was also a former cafeteria aid at DeWitt Clinton School. She was a member of Transfiguration Church, Polish Home, and South Rome Senior Citizen Center. Mary Ann loved to spend time with her family and friends, and play bingo.
Surviving besides her husband Tom; are two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorrie and Mike Manuele, Lisa and David Koscielniak; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Dana Barber, all of Rome; five grandchildren, Jennifer Manuele Fields and husband Erik Fields, Meagan Manuele, Nicole Koscielniak, Brandon Barber, and Ryan Koscielniak; two great-grandchildren, Ameila Fields and Briana Fields. Also surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Toni and Salvatore Grifasi, Maryland; a brother and sister-in-law, Rocky and Peggy Migliori, Saratoga Springs, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Elaine Migliori Wilkinson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 8:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at Transfiguration Church at 9:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Transfiguration Church Memorial Fund.
