Rita M. Gizzo Rita M. Gizzo, 80 of Rome passed away Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Rome Center. She was born in Hull, Quebec, Canada, on July 14, 1932, daughter of the late Wilfrid and Juliette Paré Germain. Rita graduated from LaRock Business College. On July 25, 1953 she married Marino A. Gizzo in St. Redempteur Church in Hull, Canada. Rita was a former bookkeeper at Opper's Kitchen and Bath. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, and Ava Dorfman Senior Center. Surviving are a son, Stephan Gizzo; a daughter and son-in-law, Jocelyne and Paul Dutcher, all of Rome; four grandchildren, Christopher Dutcher, Michael Dutcher, Erika Eason, and Michelle Eason; four great-grandchildren, Meghan Dutcher, Alexander Todd, Ayden Castro, and Aneesa Castro. Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Raymond and Cecile Germain, André and Lisette Germain, and Michael Germain, all of Quebec; three sisters, Arlette Schreyer, Jacqeline Faubert, and Marie-Paule Maurice, all of Quebec; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Merino, who passed away in 1997; daughter-in-law Patricia Gizzo, who passed away in 2010; and two sisters, Manon Proulx and Muriel Germain. The family would like to express a special thank you to Wing IV of the Rome Center for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. Mary's Church at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Confraternity of the Precious Blood, www.confraternitypb.org or a charity of one's choice.
