Obituary of Jean S. Dixon

Jean S. Dixon Jean S. Dixon, 77, of Rome, passed away Monday, June 25, 2012, at the Presbyterian Home, New Hartford. She was born in Coldstream, New Brunswick, Canada, on July 21, 1934, daughter of the late Jasper and Ella Hallett Ellis. On May 5, 1956 she married Lanny R. Dixon in Coldstream, New Brunswick, Canada. Jean started working in a Woodstock, New Brunswick, law office. She was a secretary for various doctors' offices in Rome. Jean was a member of Delta United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Surviving besides her husband Lanny; are a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Larry Cania, Rome; a daughter-in-law, Gladys Dixon, MO; three grandchildren, Thomas Carr, Rome; Jean Yocum and husband Craig, Stittville; Lynn and her husband Lenny Bacon, MO; and several great- grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Pearl and Clayton Dickinson, Coldstream, New Brunswick. Canada. She was predeceased by a son, David Dixon. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St. with the Rev. Arthur Miner officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10-11:00 a.m.
