Maryrose Smaldon Pouliot
Maryrose Smaldon Pouliot, 94, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Rome, NY, on January 3, 1918, daughter of the late James and Mary Tardugno Smaldon. Maryrose was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On September 6, 1941 she married Romeo W. Pouliot in St. John the Baptist Church where the Rev. John Burns officiated. Romeo passed away on February 24, 1966. Mrs. Pouliot was formerly employed at ROAMA at Griffiss Air Force Base. She was a member of St. Paul's Church.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth R. and Andrea Y. Pouliot, Rome; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Michael and Dolly Smaldon, Anthony "Curly" Smaldon, and Ralph Smaldon, all of Rome. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Edward and Elizabeth Smaldon, Frank and Catherine Smaldon, James Smaldon, Jacqueline Smaldon, and Jeanette Smaldon.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. Paul's Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Church memorial fund.
