Obituary of Brian Marc Barlow

Brian M. Barlow Brian M. Barlow, 36, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Rome, NY, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2011. He was born on June 25, 1975, in Rome, NY, to Elaine Dorsino Barlow and Paul Barlow. Brian graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1993, and from Fordham University in 1997 as co-valedictorian with a Bachelors Degree of Science in accounting. He was also nominated for a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford University. He was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, a business honor society. He was employed with Ernst and Young, Carrolls Corporation, and other business firms. Brian played Rome Free Academy varsity football as a linebacker for three years, and was co-captain during his senior year. He also excelled as a varsity lacrosse player, and received the Athletic Academic award. One of his greatest joys was coaching his beloved sons, Brandon and Cooper in their soccer and football teams. He was extremely proud of both of them and thought of them as his little heroes. Surviving besides his two sons, Braden and Cooper Barlow, and their mother Jeremie, all of Charlotte, NC, are his mother Elaine Barlow, his father Paul (Diane) Barlow, his brother Eric Barlow, and his sister and brother-in-law Sonya and Michael Sheppard, all of Rome. Also surviving are two step sisters, Kristen and Melissa Sauer; a brother-in-law, Bruce Paquette, New Hartford; a niece and nephew Grace and Alex Paquette, New Hartford; and paternal grandmother Dora Tuggey, Florida; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and life- long dedicated and loyal friends whom he deeply cherished. He was predeceased by his sister Jill Paquette, maternal grandparents, Anthony and Nellie Dorsino, paternal grandfather James Barlow, and his aunt Sharon Dorsino. Friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., on today from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on today at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, where friends who wish to express a memory of Brian are invited to attend. Private burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
