Sharon J. Seccurra Sharon J. Seccurra, 65, of Rome, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the Lutheran Home in Clinton. She was born in Rome, NY, on October 3, 1946, daughter of the late Walter S. and Eleanora J. Scicchitano Zielinski. Sharon graduated from Rome Free Academy, class of 1965. On June 15, 1968, she married Samuel Seccurra in St. John the Baptist Church. Mrs. Seccurra retired from Bethany Gardens. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving besides her husband Samuel are; a daughter, Christine Jones, Clinton, NY; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Cynthia and J. Michael Graziano, Rochester, NY, Diane Forbes, Lakeville, CT; and mother-in-law, Mary Seccurra, Rome. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Tyler, Lindsay and Jonathan Graziano, Dena Seccurra, and Eric Chodnicki; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, David P. Jones; a brother-in-law, Duncan Forbes; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Seccurra; and father-in-law, John Seccurra. The family would like to express a thank you to Hospice Care and a special thank you to the staff of Bryant Unit of the Lutheran Home for their care, compassion, and kindness given to Sharon and the family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rome Humane Society, P.O. Box 4572, Rome, NY 13442.
