Joseph Rondinelli Joseph Rondinelli, 79, of Rome, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rome, NY on June 16, 1929, son of the late Michael and Mary Amoroso Rondinelli. Joe attended Rome schools. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II receiving the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal. On September 8, 1956, he married Doris Cline in St. John the Baptist Church. Mr. Rondinelli retired from Griffiss Air Force after 37 years of service. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and the Galliano Club. Surviving besides his wife, Doris, are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Marcia Townsend, Carthage, NY, Margaret and Roy Rienzo, Utica, Donna and Jim Sherwood, Rome; seven grandchildren, Matthew and Morgan Townsend, Megan and Nicole Rienzo, Christopher, Daniel and Kate Sherwood; a sister, Micky Bravo, Rome; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Joseph Townsend, and two brothers, Patsy Levadoti and Gregory Rondinelli. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 8:15 am from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 9:00 am. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-7 pm. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Intensive Care Unit at Rome Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion.
