Margaret C. Muscarella
Margaret C. Muscarella, 94, of Rome, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Rome Memorial Hospital Residential Healthcare Facility. She was born in Rome, N.Y. on February 16, 1917, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Lunette Ortolano. On November 28, 1935, she married Joseph Muscarella Sr. in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away August 1, 1987. Margaret retired from Marcy State Hospital. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Margaret enjoy ed several of the activities while at the residential healthcare facility.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and George Greiner, Melbourne, Fla.; four grandchildren, Edward Coombs, Central Square, David Muscarella, Lee Center, Scott Coombs, Utica, Lauren Muscarella, Rome; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Joseph Muscarella, Jr., who passed away in 2004, and six brothers, Charles, Frank, Ross, Nicholas, Sam and Anthony Ortolano, and two sisters, Anna Carletta, and Rose Stagianotti.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. In keeping with Margaret's request, there are no calling hours.
Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St.
