Obituary of Fannie M. Briggs

Fannie M. Briggs Fannie M. Briggs, 81, of Rome, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011 at St. Luke's Healthcare Center, New Hartford. She was born in Rome, N.Y. on February 5, 1930, daughter of the late Augustine and Cecelia Perry LaMonica. On February 13, 1954, she married Frank J. Briggs, Sr. He passed away March 21, 1994. Fannie was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Frank J. Briggs, Jr., North Hollywood, Calif., Gary Briggs, Syracuse; two daughters, Ann Briggs and Cecelia Briggs, both of Rome; four grandchildren, Lisa, Stephenie, Jennifer and Jeremi; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, Kiley. Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Jennie LaMonica, Rome; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters and a niece, Prudence Ellinger. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of Rome Nursing Home and St. Luke's Healthcare Center, first floor. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9-10 a.m.
