Obituary of Mary A. Del Piano

Mary A. Del Piano Mary A. Del Piano, 90, of Rome, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010 at home. She was born in Rome, N.Y. on November 9, 1920, daughter of the late Vincent and Angela Cortese George. Mary was a graduate of Rome Free Academy, Class of 1939. On April 19, 1941, she married Edward J. Del Piano in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away August 27, 1992. Mrs. Del Piano retired from Rome Developmental Center. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving are a brother, Gregory George Sr., two sisters, Clara Capponi and Catherine Amici, all of Rome; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant son, Edward Anthony Del Piano, two brothers, Anthony George and Frank George, and a sister, Julia Ellinger. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Hospice team, including Jane, Justine and Christina. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, where friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. In keeping with Mary's wishes, there are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc. 218 W.
