Uncle Ray always took the time to sit down and have coffee and just visit with us (everyone) who came to visit. He always made my family feel welcome. He took the kids around Rome and showed them the base and other points of interest and they still remember that. Most importantly he was a wonderful husband and father and just a good guy. He will be greatly missed.

On behalf of all of us “Rome kids who grew up under your firm and always fair direction - and especially for giving of your time and skill to the students of George R. Staley Jr. High School, I thank you.
Good bye coach…

My condolence and sympathy to Ray's family. Ray and I went to high together and played on the football team. Ray was a great friend and we both shared a lot in common coming from east Rome. He was a friend that I will always remember. Eternal Memory Ray

Gabe, sorry to hear of his passing. He was a great guy and always would take time to talk whenever I was there for RFA-Proctor football games. As an opponent he always had his teams ready to play and you knew if you beat him you had to have your teams play their best.

"Coach" Vaccaro was the coach of Rome Catholic High's freshman football team and I played for him in 1979-1980. That year we were undefeated. I never got to know him in my adult life but I have fond memories of him taking an interest in me as a person and as an athlete during my formative years. He will always be remembered in my thoughts. Rest in peace "coach"......

I had the honour of working with Ray when I was a 1st Lt at Morale, Welfare, and Recreation on Griffiss. A true gentlemen, hard worker and a great character. I fondly remember my first few meetings with Ray. May God grant him eternal rest and let perpetual light shine upon him.
