Marie, "Aunt Maddie" as she insisted I call her was one remarkable lady. She was my "rock" as I fumbled with Maria's illness. She did everything for Raffie and Maria. Our trips to Albany seemed to take minutes instead of hours because of our conversation the whole way. We talked about everything!!!! Family was high on the list. Even though Marie didn't drive she was my "co-pilot" on many Albany excursions. Her humor and strength kept me going many days when I thought I couldn't get it all together. Watching Maria die was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Yet Marie was THERE for me!! Marie knows her Cross is not the end , but only the beginning of her life in Heaven. Peace.

To all the Giardino family
We are deeply saddened by the passing our adoptive mom who made my time in Rome a wonderful experience. Marie , Lou and family was like having a 2nd family. I will always treasure my memories of her, having me over for itialian dinners, clinging the cowbells at softball games, and being part of the family. You will be greatly missed, and now we have another angel looking over us. Your Florida adoptive son- dingbat

Dear Lou and Family,
I was so sorry to learn of your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting your Mom and Dad many years ago when I lived in Syracuse. Although I only met her once, it was as though she knew me for years. She was a very nice and warm-hearted person. It's never easy losing someone you love so much, but I hope the many cherished memories over the years will help to ease your sadness over time. My deepest sympathies and thoughts are with you at this time.

To the Giardino/Grifasi Families: I returned from vacation this weekend and was shocked and saddened to read about Marie's passing. Even though I haven't seen Marie in quite some time my memories of her will always be good. She had a smile on her face each and every time I saw her and she always made me laugh by saying something funny. I offer you all my heartfelt condolences.

We admired and loved Marie for her strength of character, her courage, her devotion to family. and for her loving personality.
We forgave her a long time ago for that incessant clattering of cowbells at RCH basketball games.
May she rest in happiness and peace and may your wonderful memories of her sustain you.
