Ildefonso 'Al' Garcia
Ildefonso "Al" Garcia, 76, of Rome, passed away Monday, March 22, 2010 at Faxton-St. Luke's Hospital, New Hartford. He was born in Donna, Texas on May 2, 1933, son of the late Jose and Maria Trevino Garcia. On May 1, 1965 he married Mickalena "Mickey" DeAngelo in St. John the Baptist Church. She passed away May 8, 1997. Mr. Garcia retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael T. and Amy Garcia, Rome, Robert P. Garcia; a granddaughter, Madison Garcia; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
