Kathryn “Kay” J. Krupiarz
1927 – 2023
Kathryn J. Krupiarz, 96, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Thrusday December 28, 2023, at home, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Floyd, N.Y. on June 10, 1927, daughter of the late Frank and Anna Giafaglione Coniglio. Kathryn graduated from high school and was employed by Goldberg’s Department Store in Rome for several years. On September 25, 1948, she married Michael J. Krupiarz in Rome. He passed away on July 08, 2012. She retired from Rome Developmental Center, where she was employed for many years as an LPN. Kathryn was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and the Rome YMCA.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-laws, Cynthia and Michael Martin, Webster, N.Y., Dawn Krupiarz and G. Richard Kinsella, Oneida, N.Y., grandchildren, Michelle and Michael Krupiarz, and Kasia Kinsella; step-grandchildren, Christopher, Zarin, Dylan, and Zachary Kinsella, two great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a daughter-in-law, Sharon Krupiarz, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Anna, a son, Deacon Michael J Krupiarz., her husband, Michael J. Krupiarz, brothers, Joseph, Sam, Jim, John, Dominick, and Carl Coniglio, and sisters, Sophie Coniglio, Margaret McGurn, Mary Fabrizio, Nicoletta Versace, and Frances Biazzo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday January 03, 2024 at 11:00am, at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 East Dominick Street, Rome, N.Y. with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass. Interment will take place at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in the spring.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Sam Molica and staff for the care and compassion shown to Kathryn, and a special thank you to the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care for their kindness and compassion towards Kathryn and her family during this difficult time.
