Obituary of Julie A Wanzenried

Please share a memory of Julie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Julie A. Wanzenried, 60, born in Rome, NY passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023, while living her best life with her soulmate, Bill Eckert. Julie was one of 3 siblings of Ernest and Patricial Wanzenried, who predeceased her.

Julie was employed for many years as a Licensed Insurance Advisor for Berkshire-Hathaway/Guard in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She was a top sales person with that company and enjoyed talking to people and helping them to get their insurance needs met. She will be missed by her coworkers and customers, many of whom would ask for her when they called.  Julie loved people - talking, meeting, and helping. She was always eager to lend a hand, should you need it.  Julie was no stranger to helping those that were in need….providing money, time, and even her home, to those that needed it most - even giving to the point where her own needs were often not met. That’s just the kind of wonderful, caring person she was. Everyone who met her was drawn by her infectious personality and smiling face. Julie has touched so many lives.

Not only was Julie a “people person” but she was a great animal lover and was always looking to help any “critters” that she came across whether it be a stray cat or rescuing a bug from the pool or watching over the family pets. Julie enjoyed riding with Bill on his Harley on a sunny day, yoga with her yoga “family” on Sundays and spending time with her family. We will miss her caring, loving, infectious personality so very much. Our Lord took her away much too soon.

Surviving is her son, James “Chance” Trask, and her sisters, Cindy Malkemes, and Jamie Wanzenried-Brown; her nephew, Nicholas Malkemes, and nieces, Nina Malkemes and Calleigh Brown, as well as two brothers-in-law: Mark Malkemes and Joseph Brown and many cousins and aunts, who she loved dearly.
