Obituary of Jean B. DeAngelo
Jean B. DeAngelo, 93, of Rome, NY, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Crouse Community Center, Morrisville, NY. She was born in Rome, NY, on December 31, 1929, daughter of the late Jesse “Hoop” and Alice Treen Beckwith. On July 3, 1948 she married Louis A. DeAngelo in Rome. He passed away August 7, 1980. Jean retired in 1985 from Rome Developmental Center as an LPN. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Surviving is a daughter, Connie Hiscox, Cortland, NY, a son, Lou DeAngelo and companion, Dora Stahl, Boonville, NY, sixteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Ronald (Priscilla) Beckwith, Rome, six sisters; Georgianne Corigliano, Shirley Dudley, Betty Lou Cook, all of Rome, Diana Hewitt, Port Clinton, OH, Bonnie Sue (Frank) Gatto, Sylvan Beach, NY and Debbie Youngs, Rome, sisters-in-laws; Yvonne Beckwith and Jeanne Beckwith, both of Rome and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her companion of several years, Richard Pereto, and surviving are his daughters; Edna (Donald) Seaton, Elizabeth (Paul) Bailow, and their grandchildren that were a part of Jean’s family. Jean was also predeceased by her siblings; Jesse Beckwith, Richard Beckwith, Charles and Linda Beckwith, Sally and Lawrence Perry and Carol Clark and a son-in-law, Walter Hiscox.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick St., Rome, with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Private burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Private calling hours for family is Thursday from 9:45 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, NY.
