We are so sorry for your incredible loss. I can’t even imagine how painful it was to create your child’s obituary - a deed no parent should ever have to do.
The tribute to Stone is absolutely beautiful and speaks to his spirit which will always live inside of you who keep his memory alive. God Bless you and your family and know that you have an entire community that is thinking of and praying for you.

I remember working with Monica (Mimi) and listening to all her stories about Stone and Carm. The sparkle in her eyes and permanent smile on her face; the love for you was evident. A few years later, you seemed to “appear” in Michael’s life. I feel a time when he needed you the most. You broke him out of his shell and transformed him into a better version of himself. I know I never told you before but I want you to know how grateful I am and how much that meant to me. I really hope you knew that.
The following years consisted of you, Michael (Mikey), Hayden, and Brandon going on all sorts of adventures. Skateboarding one minute, grabbing the fishing poles to head over to Mimi & Poppy’s, going camping for the night somewhere, snowboarding/skiing, having fires at someone’s house or jumping in one of the cars for a road trip. Always swinging through for Michael to change and grab whatever food there was, to head off again with me saying, “Don’t get into any trouble. Behave and make good choices.” You would look at me with that smile and say, “Don’t worry, we will.” Stone, I’m always going to picture you standing right with the boys and it gives me comfort knowing you will always be with them.
What will I remember most about Stone? His kindness and sincerity, his smile and the way he could deescalate me, and his loyalty to his friends. What will I miss most about Stone? Michael’s friend – the person he would call to spend so much time with, the person that he laughed and planned with, and the person who would text me “Is Mikey up yet”, and “Can I swing by to grab this?” The person I thought would be in my son’s life until you were both old and gray, and the person with whom we both morn and celebrate.
You will truly be missed and never forgotten.

My deepest condolences to you all. I never knew your son but my daughter is a Junior at Clarkson. When I heard the news I was devastated, as a parent, and heartbroken. You are all in my thoughts and in my prayers. I pray for peace and comfort in your hearts. To lose a child is unimaginable and I do hope that you will find strength in each other. I met stone at Hartwick Diving camp and was his roommate. Even though I’m a few years older, he quickly became a good friend. He was one of the most charismatic and funny people I’ve ever met. I’m not from the area but we kept in touch and he was such a cool and caring person. He would randomly check up on me, asking me what I was up to, and that’s the type of person we need more of in this world. Thank you for being a friend Stone.

I first met Stone when he was at Hartwick College Diving camp with my son William and have followed his diving sucess for years. Although I didn't know him personally, I feel lile I do. Will always looked up to Stone and his accomplishments. What a great soul, taken way too soon. I truly can't imagine the pain you all are going through. Sending prayers your way. We first met Stone when Collin joined AYSO U5 Soccer in spring 2005. Our boys played together for two 1/2 years on a team that Chris & I eventually shared coaching for. Chris was a lifesaver in Fall of 2010 when I missed most of the season because of Shaun's cancer. Our boys came together again on Coach Larkin's Copper City Coyotes Team which Chris also helped coach. They were together throughout the RFA soccer program from modified to JV to Varsity. We have so many pictures that Shaun took over the years but shared a few favorites here. Please let us know if you want more of the photos that we have saved.
We will always remember Stone's outgoing personality, wild spirit and love of the game!

Hi,
My name is Lizzy, I’m a first year at St. Lawrence University!
I met Stone online and immediately fell in love with this sweet charismatic boy who was so energetic and kind and was to put it simply, living life the way I wanted to.
He was my first college friend outside of school that I became close with. I met Stone at the beginning of the semester, when i was going through probably one of the hardest moments in my life, but I kept going, cause Stone was out here living life and I wanted to do that with him.
I only hung out with Stone for a short period of time, but he was honestly someone I knew was gonna be in my life forever, and someone who knew what I was feeling, what I was going through, and he sat there and just talked my ear off, making me laugh and smile, throwing around the occasional school joke (our schools are rivals haha!)
My favorite memory was the first time I met Stone. We were meeting for the first time in person on our first lil “date” type meeting and I was so nervous because he was just bursting with energy and I didn’t know how to keep up. I picked him up at school cause we had decided to go get food and talk and get to know each other. Without even noticing, as i’m sitting in the car waiting for him to come out, he sneaks around the side of my car, flings open the car door and says, “hey, what’s up?” and I just giggled a little because he made me nervous, but the entire car ride we talked, we talked for hours about everything and anything and i’m so thankful for that time with him.
Stone has taught me the most important lesson, to reach out when I need it, to talk to those I love, and to be loud, be talkative, meet new people, try new things, and Stone, don’t you worry, I am gonna keep that promise.
As someone who has had loss become a huge part of my life and my identity, it can be hard sometimes to look at the bright side, but I am gonna try for you.
The last night I saw you, was on my mom’s birthday, you had had no idea that she was gone, but you held me anyways, and I thank you deeply for that. I have told her a lot about you recently, so I know that if you see her, she will open her love and kindness to you as you did for me.
I am eternally grateful for you Stone, forever and always.
