Obituary of Gina A. Hartnett
Gina A. Hartnett, 65, of Rome, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 31, 2023. She was born in Rome, NY, on August 8, 1957, daughter of the late Louis A. Sr., and Florence Tamburino DeBonzo. Gina was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and Oneida County BOCES. On December 16, 1977 she married Robert J. Hartnett in St. John the Baptist Church. Gina retired from Rome Hospital Behavioral Unit. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Gina traveled the world as a devoted Army Wife of twenty-two years with her husband and children.
Surviving besides her husband Bob, are a son Brian Hartnett, Rome, a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Joseph Sullivan, Rome, two grandchildren, Olivia and Mason. Also surviving are a brother, Louis A. (Jan) DeBonzo, Jr., Naples, FL, a sister and a brother-in-law, Theresa (Raymond) Kerr, VA, and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday April 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick St., with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
