Obituary of Vincent C Esposito
Vincent C. Esposito, 70, of Rome, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Vinnie was born in Rome, NY, on September 25, 1952, son of the late Vincent and Lena Grasso Esposito. He was a 1970 graduate of Rome Free Academy.
Vinnie was well loved for his beautiful singing voice and his true musician's soul. He played with many bands throughout the years, including the Good Guys, Sail, Fuel, Holidaye, Aftermath, Target, Classified, and most recently, DVD. A member of ASCAP, Vinnie arranged and composed music, including his original song, "Cleveland". He collaborated with countless musicians in Rome, Utica, and the surrounding areas. Vinnie was also a member of the staff at St. John the Baptist Church, where he also sang for masses and services. His gift of music brought joy and happiness to so many people over the years.
Vinnie was a history enthusiast and made annual trips to Gettysburg with his wife, Laraine. He was a collector of musical instruments, model trains, and antiques. Vinnie loved cooking and enjoying meals with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Laraine Esposito, his daughter and son-in-law, Rachael and Bryan Wilczak, his son and son-in-law, Vincent Esposito and William Elchert, his sister, Patricia Mastrangelo, his step-children, Justice Cesari, Rachel Anken, Joanne Jandreau, and Elizabeth Giles, his nieces and nephews, Michael Mastrangelo, Vanessa Griffiths, David Mastrangelo, and Amelia Mastrangelo, and step-grandchildren, Adam, Luke, Sean, Joshua, Ilario, and Angelo. Also surviving is a brother-in-law, Larry Migliori, and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Maria and Allen Ringlund. He was predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law, Joseph Mastrangelo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert L. Kelly officiating. Spring Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc, 7751 Merrick Rd., on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 4-7 p.m.
