Obituary of David R Sweet

David R. Sweet, 67, of Taberg, NY, passed away unexpectedly at St. Luke’s Health in Utica, NY, on Wednesday December 14, 2022. David was born in Oneida, NY on September 8, 1955, the son of Beryle G. and Dorothy Palmer Sweet. He graduated from RFA in 1973 with vocational training at BOCES. David was a Machinist by trade and worked for many local companies, including Hubbard Tool & Die, Revere Copper and Brass, Rome Cable, eventually retiring from Goodrich Corporation.

David was a big Motorcycle enthusiast and was a very talented wood and metal worker. He was well liked and enjoyed the company of many friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Beryle G. Sweet and is survived by his mother, Dorothy Sweet, a brother Michael (Carol) Sweet, two sisters, Nancy Sweet, and Kathie Sweet, nephews, Christopher (Jennifer) Sweet, Jeremy (Megan) Cash, Kyle Johnson, Joshua (Katie) Sweet, a niece, Amie (Ryan) Fleming, and several great-nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc, 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome on Friday December 23, 2022 from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm. There are no services.
