John A. Gallucci John A. Gallucci, age 57, passed away on April 3, 2012 after a valiant fight with cancer. John was born and raised in Rome, New York. After leaving school, John enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for eight years. His service time allowed him to travel to Germany, Kansas and Utica, New York. After his military service, he was employed by Griffiss Air Force Base as a fuel specialist until 1994. He was than relocated to Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. He was the Civilian Fuels Technician of the Year, Air Force Material Command in 2000. In January of 2008 after thirty three years John retired from civil service. He than took a job with Maytag Aircraft Corporation remaining at Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. John was a dedicated, loyal, and outstanding employee. He was very passionate about his work and was loved and admired by his fellow workers. John was currently living in Fort Walton Beach with his partner Leslie Gurley of eleven years, along with her children Katelynn Gurley, and Jesse Girard. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Theresa Gallucci of Rome, New York, as well as his first wife Agnes Giardino and his second wife Nicole Bouthillier. John is survived by his daughter Julia and her husband Kareem Soto currently residing in Oxford, England. John leaves behind his brother, Anthony Gallucci of Rome, New York, two sisters, Gina Gallucci of LaSelva Beach California, and Diana Powers of Washington Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and many dear close friends. A memorial service was held in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and many of his friends and co workers attended. Local Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning, at 10:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. John will be buried with his wives in St. John's Cemetery in Rome, New York. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
