May God Bless your family in this time of your lost. The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble and may He console you. In God's arms may your father and grandfather be at peace. Because Christ suffered, He can comfort you. Trust in the Lord and lean not on your understanding.

To Roger Del Nero and the entire Del Nero family,
On behalf of my parents, Nat and Tina Cesari, and myself I would like to offer my deepest regards and sympathy on Gene's passing. He was a wonderful man, a good and true friend to my father and someone whom I truly looked up to. He will surely be missed.

My grandpa was also my best friend, and I'm so grateful to be able to say so. This was hands down the most well put together, all around best human I've ever encountered. He was so funny and sarcastic, but always made everyone feel so lovely and comfortable. He never wanted to inconvenience anyone, and was incredibly independent, always wanting to do everythibg by himself. Eugene never had any judgements upon anyone, and accepted everyone regardless of what walk of lofe they had come from. Eugene lived a long life, and did so much with the 87 (almost 88!) years he had. He truly lived life to the fullest. He loved his wife more than I've ever seen a man love a woman. He was and always will be my best friend. I'll never forget listening to oldies, eating lemon yogurt with honey, listening to your jokes, filling our faces with popcorn and ice cream, winding down with coffee, watching the history channel, or listening to you make fun of my makeup. If I could just hear you tell me you hate my tattoos one more time id be satisfied. Everytime I saw you I would hug you ten times and kiss you and repeatedly tell you I loved you because I never knew when the last time would be, but that time has now come. You'd be so mad if you saw how broken I was right now. I could tell you anything and you wpuld never hold a judgement. I didnt have to watch my language or dress a certain way or use correct manners around you. It was never like going to visit grandparents, it was like just going to hangout with a best friend. We connected on such an amazing level and you were such an enormous influence to my life. I have everything I have thanks to you. You gave me my first car, paid for my rent in my first appartment, paid my way through hair school, and now I'm living in your house. Though material things are nothing compared to the morals and memories you've shared with me, I would not be where I am today because of you. I would not be who I am if it weren't for all of the amazing influences you had on me. It's going to be awful not giving you a box of wine for Christmas this year or being the only one who could force you over to Thanksgiving dinner. I'm devastated you won't get to meet my son, but he will always know who Grandpa Gene is. I love you so much and I can't explain the impact you made on my life. You are the most beautiful person, in and out. Things won't ever be the same, but I know you tell me to "stai zitto." I love you so much Grandpa, and you will always be my best friend.
