Dear Brad and Linda, I am so sorry to hear of Rusty's passing. Today I just learned of both your Mother's and Rusty's deaths. How very sorry I am for your loss. I remember Rusty riding his beloved tractor all over Camp Triangle. He was the person you called on if something was broken, needed to be fixed, or a bat that needed to be scared out of the cabin. I am sure the bond the three of you had was strong. be well, Susan Ryan

I wish the family especially his brother & sister who I also knew via Camp Triangle well & hope they are doing Ok along with Rusty's family & sorry for their loss though time certainly marches on for all of us!

It was my privilege to be Walter's roommate during our freshman year at Colgate. He was a smart, good-natured, caring guy. Great sense of humor, too. The campus was a better place to live, thanks to Walter. And, since family and friends were always important to him, I know his passing has left a painful empty space. Please accept my condolences and prayers for Walter and those dear to him.

"The Lord comforts the broken-hearted. He rescues those who are crushed in Spirit." My condolences to the Schofield family.
Walt was my fraternity brother, room mate, football team mate, and closest friend at Colgate. We worked in the DKE kitchen together for three years. Shared many laughs and good times. He was the conscience of the DKE House in the mid-70s.
A good, hard-working, talented, witty and passionate man with a big heart and a free spirit.I love you Big Walt. Will miss you. Who can forget the blow towel and those carmel platform shoes! :)T

My heart is broken to lose Walter who was a brother and friend. We grew up as men together. Walter had a wonderful sense of humor and he will be missed by all that know him.
Please accept my profound sympathy at his loss. I hope that his wife and family can draw some comfort in knowing that God is holding Walt in his arms now. He was taken from us all too soon. His brothers from Delta Kappa Epsilon wish him eternal peace.

My sincere sympathy for your loss Brad and Linda. I was shocked to learn of Rusty's passing. I remember fondly growing up on Ardsley Rd and playing touch football, zip lining in your back year, basketball in our driveway, making numerous laps around the house on the motor bike, hundreds of games of hide and seek, monopoly, parcheesi, battleship, Risk, cards, Camp Triangle, grilled cheese and tomato soup lunches, putting the roof on your garage and then our garage with our fathers, riding bikes, puzzles, your basement family room, street parties, and Rusty whistling all the time.
Great memories of a dear neighbor. Rusty was a good neighbor and friend. I wish we never lost touch with you guys. Genuinely kind people we all were in our youth as I'm sure we are as adults. I'm sure your memories with help you through this difficult time. Whistling, Rusty was always whistling. Peace be with you all.

Godspeed, Rusty -
You lived life with gusto, ran your own race, and enriched the world with those blue, blue eyes and the infectious smile. I could say you were a good kid, but I spent too many years babysitting you to make that statement. But you were always interesting, curious for what was around the next bend, and willing to strike out on your own to get there. Daring and devilish, a perfect blend of your father's good looks and your mother's brains. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten by those whose lives you touched.
