Lucille A. Cook

1949 – 2026

Lucille A. Cook, 77, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday August 26, 2026, at home, with family by her side, after living with a lifelong illness. She was born in Rome, N.Y. on February 15, 1949, daughter of the late Harold R. Sr. and Beatrice Mesagna Cook. Lucille enjoyed crossword puzzles, coloring books, watching television, and being involved in every family conversation. She also enjoyed family gatherings, and seeing all her nieces and nephews, especially her nephew Jack. Lucille attended Job Connections for many years and enjoyed being social and having a good friend group.

Surviving are a brother, Ray Cook (Vicki), Missouri, two sisters, Colleen Koenig (Simon), and Roxanne Pohorenec (Gerald) as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold Sr., and Beatrice, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lucille’s attending nurses, including super-nurse, Kathleen. They would also like to acknowledge Lucille’s “special caregivers”; niece and nephew, Hannah Aldrich and Trevor Aldrich.

Private Graveside Services will be held at St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
