Elizabeth "Betsy" S. Vaccaro Elizabeth "Betsy" S. Vaccaro, 61, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse. She was born in Rome, NY, on January 21, 1955 daughter of Nicholas and Anna Filoso Anania. Betsy graduated from Rome Free Academy and received her nursing degree from Mohawk Valley School of Nursing. On August 13, 1977 she married Michael P. Vaccaro in St. John the Baptist Church. Betsy was formerly employed as a nurse at Northernlitho. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and former member of Rome Memorial Hospital Twigs. Betsy enjoyed walking, running and exercising. Most of all, she loved watching her grandchildren. Surviving besides her husband Michael, are three sons and two daughters-in-law; Michael and Ashley Vaccaro, Albany, NY, Matthew Vaccaro, Baltimore, MD, Mark and Luann Vaccaro, Westernville, two loving grandchildren; Mia Rose Vaccaro and Luca Michael Vaccaro, her mother, Anna M. Anania, Rome. Also surviving are three brothers and sisters-in-law; Mark and Lorriane Anania, Westmoreland, Nicholas and Leigh Anania, GA, Michael and Debbie Anania, Westernville, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law; John and Toni Vaccaro , Rome and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Nicholas Anania and a brother, David Anania. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Philip A. Hearn officiating. Friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., on Sunday, November 27, 2016, from 2-5 p.m. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
